The first week in July

We had a really busy and fun week.  Andy had Wednesday and Thursday off, which was so nice because he hasn't had two days off in a row in a long time!

On Tuesday I was feeling crafty so I made Ellie and Mcrae some 4th of July shirts and  bow for Ellie.  The kids really liked to get their hands in the pant and they really loved having their handprints on their shirts.

On Thursday we drove up to Logan for Andy's sisters birthday.  We had a great day in the pool, going to out to lunch, and jumping on the trampoline.

Ellie jumped from the deck to the tramp about 150 times, seriously 

Playing Pretty Pretty Princess with Aunt Merry.  Which did you know they stopped making this game and it cost about $84 on ebay?  Lame.

Side note, Ellie looks so much like Grammy when she was a little girl.  I need to find a picture of Anna and post it so you can compare.

On the 4th we got up early and went to the ward breakfast and Ellie ate about 1 bite of her pancake and then wanted to play in the park.  Andy and I were like, eh, its the 4th of July, go ahead. 

Afterwards we went and bought some fireworks and did some grocery shopping so that we could have a delicious dinner that night.

While I was making potato salad and cherry cobbler, with fresh cherries from Merry's house, we had our annual viewing of Independence Day.  We love that movie, and have watched it every year since we have been married. 

Then Ellie and I took a nap, and since Ellie wanted to make the day super awesome, she slept for 3 hours!  It was amazing! 

I made homemade fried chicken for dinner and it was a hit.  It was my second time trying.  The first time being when I was pregnant with Ellie and it ended with burnt chicken and tears.

Andy's brother Chris and his wife Danushka came over for dinner and we had a nice time with them.

Side story, Ellie kept eating chips all day and I couldn't figure out where she was getting them.  Then I saw this.  This girl is too smart for her own good!

After dinner and when every had left, Ellie and I went for a run.  Quick progress update, I've been exercising 6 days a week and I have to say that I'm pretty proud of myself for going on the 4th.

When we got home I got Ellie ready for bed, and then Andy came home from work.  We decided to let Ellie stay up and watch fireworks.  We drove up to a bluff that over looked the valley and it was incredible to see fireworks going off everywhere!  It was hard to decided where to look because there was so many!

 Unfortunately going to bed 3 hours later than she normally would did not encourage Ellie to sleep in.  She woke up at 6:30 on the dot, but at least it got me up and out of the house for our walk.

Andy and I went for a day date on Saturday to go and see Maleficent.  We LOVED it!  I highly encourage you to go and see it if you haven't.

It was a fun and busy week.
