Last Days in San Diego

Andy was busy all through the Christmas break applying to graduate school.  We prayed he would get in to one, and we are thrilled that he has gotten into 6 different programs with funding provided at each school!

After that we decided it would be wisest to move back to Utah and stay with Andy's parents to save money before moving again in the fall.  We had to go to our favorite places a few more times before we left!

We went to our favorite donut place, The Donut Bar, twice.

We also went to the zoo a few more times, and to a botanical garden and pie place that Andy has been wanting to go to for a while now.

Ellie was bummed to be leaving her school but was happy that she got to be there for 100 days, Valentines and to be star student.

Ellie has an admirer named Roger who was always bringing her presents
I can say that I don't recommend moving while you are 30 weeks pregnant, and have a 2 year old, but there we are.

Not ashamed to say that Penny watched a ton of TV the last week we were there
Other highlights include going to the beach one last time with the girls best friends, Tommy and Alex.  We will miss their whole family so much!

Ellie also learned how to tie her shoes, we went to Balboa Park, and celebrated Galentines Day.
Ovaries before Brovaries

The first Cafe Rio in San Diego opened and we went a ton of times! They had amazing deals.

I won't be sad to leave the crowds and cost of San Diego.  But I will miss the amazing people we met there, and the beautiful beaches.

We moved to San Diego

We finally moved to San Diego.  We are finally living in our own place again.  Wheh, its been a crazy week!

Andy got back to Utah on Wednesday and we loaded up the truck and left on Friday.

Andy and Ellie rode in the moving truck and Penny and I rode in the car.  It was a super long drive with Penny, she cried most of the drive!  I don't know what the problem was but it felt like the drive that would not end!  We got in pretty late on Friday and we were all so exhausted that we threw mattresses down on the living room floor and went straight to sleep.  I'm so thankful that Andy had already met our new church ward and they were so wonderful and came over to help us move in.  It would have taken all day with just the two of us and they had the moving truck empty in 40 minutes!

One of the only times Penny smiled
Andy is the best and most thoughtful husband!  We spent all day Saturday unpacking and the next day was Valentines Day.  Even with everything we were doing he made it a special day.  He got up with Ellie while Penny and I slept in and when I came downstairs there was bacon and pancakes waiting.  He also went out late Saturday night and got me flowers and balloons for the girls and Thomas.

After church we all took naps and then I made a steak dinner.  Later we went to beautiful Coronado Island to watch the sun set and walk on the beach for a little while.

I unpacked the last box today! Hooray!  Heres a little look at our new place!

Sunday happenings and Valentines Day

We normally have church at 1 pm, but we had stake conference which got over at 12.  We drove down to Bridal Falls and enjoyed this crazy warm winter weather we have been having.

Since its winter and there are no leaves on the trees we noticed this old cabin in the woods that wouldn't be visible in the spring.  We found the way there, and climbed down to check it out.  It was pretty creepy during the day, so I think we'll stay clear of it at night.
On Valentines day we opened cards and exchanged little gifts.  Then Ellie had a play date and Andy and I were able to go grocery shopping by ourselves!  Afterwards we picked Ellie up and went out to Thomas and dropped off the balloon that Ellie picked out for him.

Andy is the best!

Later that night Anna watched Ellie and we went out to dinner at Braza Grill.  I'm not lying when I say that I have never had a more delicious meal.  If you have never gone to a Brazilian barbeque you are missing out, really, find one and go immediately.
I think Andy's face sums up how delicious everything was
We were so full after we were done, we drove to downtown and walked around for two hours to let food digest.  It was a wonderful day and so much fun to spend a lot of one on one time with Andy!
