Andy had his day off today, and we didn't have any plans, except to go to the store, but then we ended up doing fun things.
We have been wanting to climb Ensign Peak for a while now, but for different reasons haven't done it. It is in Salt Lake and it is not long, but it is steep and with very little shade. Don't ask me why, but we decided that today would be the day, when it was 96 degrees outside, and we did it. Ellie was such a trooper and walked almost the entire way up and back down by herself.

When you get to the top there is a spectacular view of the valley! Once we were at the top, Ellie announced that she needed to go to the bathroom, and there is no bathroom, except for mother nature. It might be weird, but I am super proud that Ellie will go to the bathroom in the woods. We have had to do it 4 or 5 times now, and she is a pro.

When we were done we drove back home and gave Ellie a quick bath, because she was filthy and then she took a nap. After dinner Chris called and invited us to go swimming at their apartment complex.
Pools are tricky with Ellie because she loves water, but not when her feet don't touch the bottom. It was the same routine at first, she didn't want to wear a life jacket, she didn't want to get or be let go of, but after 5 minutes, she decided that she loved it! She just became a little fish and was doing a doggy paddle the length of the pool all by herself. It was crazy! I don't know why she changed her mind but I'm so glad that she did! After that she didn't want any help and was very willing to wear her life jacket because it meant she could swim. She even started getting out the pool and jumping in by herself. That girl is unpredictable!
