April 2018

I haven't posted in a long time, but I was reading past posts and regretted letting it lapse.  So here I am again!

We celebrated Easter with the girls at home and with Charlie still in the hospital.  It was so hard to feel torn between being with my girls and being with my baby boy.  The girls had fun opening their baskets and doing a Easter egg hunt later in the day.

It was such a joyous day that we brought Charlie home!  I'm so glad my mom and dad were still in Utah and got to snuggle and spend time outside of the hospital with Charlie.  We also blessed him at home before they had to leave to go back to Washington.

Ellie started soccer again and scored her first ever goal!  Penny was sad that she couldn't go out on the field too!

The girls were so amazing with Charlie, and the transition from 2 to 3 was relatively smooth.  Living with Andy's parents definitely made the difference!

Easter in Utah

We went to Utah for Easter.  It was a whirlwind trip, which ended with our car dying.

This was the first time we have been back since Andy's parents sold their house.  It was bittersweet to be there, because we all missed the house, but their new house is nice.

On Easter, Ellie was super excited, and Penny wanted breakfast.  We looked through the Easter baskets and then went to church.  Afterwards we went out to visit Thomas' grave.  Its a special treat to visit on Easter.  To be reminded once more that one day we will have Thomas, and we will be given the honor of raising our son.

We also had a delicious dinner with Andy's family and a fun egg hunt.  On our last we finally took Ellie to see Beauty and the Beast, she loved it! After that we mainly hung around the house, playing and enjoying being with Grammy and Papa.

The next day we started driving home.  The trip was going great, no traffic, we were making great time, but about 2 hours from home our oil light suddenly turned on the engine started making a horrible noise!
Long story short, our car was done for good.  After a very stressful few days we got a new one.  I hate when you unexpectedly have to make a huge purchase, but it is what it is!

Holidays

I love holidays, but it was kind of a bummer that all the holidays meshed into each other this year.  Now we don't have another one for a long time!

Pie day: I made a blackberry apple pie and it was so good!

St. Patricks Day: I remember that Ellie really liked St. Patricks Day last year, so I put more effort into it this year.
Lucky Charms, green grapes, green milk

Green Mac n cheese, and green beans
Mint Chip Ice Cream
Easter: We celebrated Easter early, because the girls and I would be out of town.  We did an egg hunt, talked about the resurrection, and made a roast dinner.

While we were in Seattle we celebrated with my family and Ellie had so much fun with her cousins.
