Pioneer Day and the rest of the weekend

Before I married Andy I had never heard of Pioneer Day.  Its never really been a big deal to me like it is to the rest of Utah.  It celebrates the pioneers coming to Utah for religious freedom.  Its on par with the 4th of July in Utah.

A big parade is done downtown and they put all the floats on display in an expo center a few days before, so we went and looked at those.

On Pioneer Day, we went to the dollar theatre and saw "Tomorrowland" and afterwards we went downtown had lunch and went to a park to enjoy the beautiful day.

That night we went over to a friends house and let off some fireworks.
Saturday we ran errands and Ellie tried out her new goggles for the swim lessons that she starts next week.
We've been wanting to go to the drive-in but it didn't work out the last time we tried, so this time we left a lot earlier and got a great spot.  We had a mattress and a bunch of pillows and blankets in the back of the truck, and somehow Ellie stayed awake for both movies.

After a weekend of staying up late, we put her to bed at 8 last night and she slept for 13 hours straight.
