Presidents Day

Andy had Presidents off, and we have both never been to the Moab area, which is crazy, because Andy grew up in Utah.  We woke up early and drove the almost 4 hours down to Caynonlands National Park.  Our first stop was Dead Horse state park and the view was stunning!

Ellie could not have been happier to be throwing rocks and digging in the dirt all day!

The first hike we did was to Mesa Arch.  When we pulled up to the trail head there were little flurries of snow, but nothing too bad.  By the time we got there it had picked up a bit, and on our way out of the trail, it was a full on blizzard!  Thankfully its a short trail and the snow stopped as suddenly as it began.

of coarse he walked on top

We did a lot of hiking and Ellie was such a trooper, but always crashed pretty hard when we got back in the car, and slept a good portion of the way home.

Upheaval Dome
We stopped for gas on the way home, and we looked over at the next car and there was a dog in the drivers sit.  We thought it was hilarious.
Crazy weather aside, we had a great day and our next trip will definitely be to Arches National Park.
