Catch Up

Its not even Thanksgiving yet, but I feel like we have done a lot of Christmas themed activities lately.

A week ago we up to the first snow fall of the winter.  Ellie was so stoked and it was made even more magical by the fact that we were going to a breakfast with Santa that day.
Ellie loves the idea of Santa, but not so much the physical presence of Santa.  She was excited to see him pull up in his sleigh, but when he walked by us, she just closed her eyes and played dead.

Since she has such an aversion to Santa we don't want to pay for a photo with him because she never smiles, and for the last two years has refused to sit on his lap.  We went to an expo that had free photos, and she was so excited until it was her turn, just like that kid in  a Christmas Story.
2nd year in a row that we've all been in the picture
Maybe one year we'll get a picture of Ellie smiling

Afterwards we went to Crown Burger, which a Salt Lake staple. It is so fun in there because they have it decorated like a castle inside.  I've never been in such a fancy burger joint.

Since we were downtown we went to City Creek.

Trying out some couches
When we got home it was time to celebrate our nephew, Chris', birthday!  He turned 1!
Cousins!

birthday boy!

Ellie was so good about just watching Chris open presents

I think the dads had more fun with this toy than the kids

  1. Ellie's Santa pictures are so cute, even if she's not smiling. We'll see how our kids feel about Santa this year. Hazel used to be deathly afraid of anything dressed up in a costume, like a mascot.

  2. Tami you look so cute in the picture with the big clock!! Haha I'm thinking Vince is going to act the same way seeing Santa this year.
