Today was trying with Ellie to say the least. We still think of her as baby, even though she is full blown toddler now. She decided to show us just how much she has grown during her nap.
She normally takes an hour nap in the morning, and a two hour nap in the afternoon. Today she woke up from the afternoon nap after only 40 minutes, usually we just let her fuss until she falls back asleep. She apparently had other plans.
First she talked to herself for about 15 minutes and then she started crying, and we let that go on for about 15 minutes. Then we she starts banging on her door, and we were like "What the heck"!? During that 30 minutes she had taken her clothes and diaper off and peed in her bed, and then figured out how to climb out of her bed.
I could not believe it! I thought we had a least a few more months before she figured out how to climb out. Thankfully she went to bed just fine tonight, and hopefully she'll wait a while before she climbs out again.
Gah! That's the worst. Olive started on her 2nd birthday :( It's not fun.
ReplyDeleteawhh, sounds like you guys will have to get more crafty with anti bed climbing barricades :) I knew a family that put the lock on the outside of the door so if their child would climb out of their bed they were stuck in the room. haha lots of possibilities!
