All About Ellie

Ellie Ruth Romero turned 2 on August 27th.  I feel like Ellie has gotten the short end of the stick with Thomas passing away.  Its been hard to be festive and make things fun for her when I'm working through my grief with Thomas.  I've decided to set a goal to try harder to be a better mom to her, and make her childhood a memorable one.

Facts about Ellie~

  • 2 years old
  • 25 pounds (22%)
  • 33 inches (24%)
  • loves yogurt, MILK, water, string cheese, and pretty much any fruit
  • calls any liquid gaga, for unknown reasons
  • loves  is OBSESSED with Curious George
  • loves coloring, "reading", and putting things in containers and walking around with them
  • likes to organize things a certain way, and freaks out if you change it, touch it, or look at in a way that she doesn't agree with
  • potty trained (thank heavens)
  • loves going for walks, but you better let her climb into her stroller herself otherwise you have to deal with a meltdown
  • she can frequently be spotted spinning in circles by herself and saying "wee"
  • is not afraid of slides, water, dogs, or walking off by herself (yikes)
  • she loves her baby brother
    • even though Ellie spent just a short time with Thomas, I know that she knows him.  She walks around with his picture and often goes up to it and kisses the frame and hugs it, saying Thomas"
  • nursery is probably the greatest 2 hours of her life every week
  • fiercely independent
  • hates holding hands, you either have to drag her, carry her, and watch her like a hawk while she walks next you
  • non-stop energy, but goes down easily for naps, and bedtime because she's so exhausted
apparently eating upside down helps digestion

I could go on and on about my girl.  We love her so much!

  1. Happy Birthday Ellie! First off, you are a great mom! Secondly that is so sweet about her relationship to Thomas!! I feel like the veil is so thin for young children. Love that picture of her smiling upside down!! Yay for potty trained!! :)
