Cedar Keys

This Sunday, when we pulled up to the church building I smelt salty sea air for some reason.  I just had to go to the beach.  After church we came home and packed a lunch and headed out to Cedar Keys on the Gulf.  Its not an amazing beach or anything, but its only 45 minutes away, so it was perfect.

We threw bread for the birds, and walked around the town.

When we were headed out we saw a sign for a place called Shell Mound, so we drove out there to see what is was.  It was a natural formation of shells that was thousands of years in the making.  It was really interesting.

It was so quiet and peaceful out there.  I can't remember the last time I was in such a perfectly quiet place.

All the shells on the ground

On our way back out, we saw a bunch of birds picking at something.  It was a pretty big skeleton, but were not sure what it was.  Maybe a deer?

They reminded me of the birds on Splash Mountain

  1. That's so nice to be close to the beach. I feel a little land-locked in Utah.
